one.

my portrayal of armand is almost completely based on assad zaman’s portrayal in amc’s interview with the vampire. this means that my armand is not a child & he is not white! i don’t actually feel comfortable portraying armand in any other way at this point so if you are expecting a 100% book-accurate armand, i am so not sorry to disappoint.

two.

that being said, i have read the entire vampire chronicles series and though i personally only consider the first three novels + TVA to be canon, i’m aware of armand’s entire storyline and have made my own personal changes where i’ve seen fit. i’m a bit protective over armand but i swear i’m not weird about it (lying). i will be updating this document as more details pertaining to armand’s backstory are revealed in the show.

regarding armand’s personality, please don’t expect him to be a ray of sunshine. he is not one. i feel i must utter the time-honored words IN CHARACTER =/= OUT OF CHARACTER. armand is a bitter old bloodsucker who lives to hurt feelings, lie, scandalize, and stir the figurative pot. <3

my portrayal of armand is open to shipping only with other muses in the vampire chronicles verse. that being said, please don’t try to force-ship with me. i tend to be very selective when it comes to writing anything beyond platonic relationships when it comes to armand, & i must kindly ask that you don’t take it personally if i’m not comfortable shipping our muses together.

i’ll generally write any length, from one-line banter to multi-paragraph threads. also, while i’d really love to interact with other TVC characters, i’m always open to interacting with any & all characters, be they canon or original!

i’m not really squeamish when it comes to writing mature themes (i write the vampire armand, i mean) but i won’t be writing any lewd content. that’s not to say i won’t write NSFW stuff—just, y’know, not any outright pornographic material.

headcanon three. armand’s fascination with BDSM is just as important to him as is his fixation on the visual arts; his many fetishes have cost him a fortune over the past few centuries.
headcanon four. armand identifies as a muslim. he was raised roman catholic by his patron marius de romanus, but has since done away with those beliefs in particular. he thinks of catholic imagery as a form of erotica, now.
headcanon five. armand loves gadgets of all sorts — these days it’s rare to see him without his ipad, for example. he’s come a long way from his years spent in shame, squalor & refusal. (we’re gonna call that progress!)

headcanon six. armand owns several homes across the world, most of which he co-owns with his husband/fledgling daniel; there’s brooklyn, boston, sausalito, toronto, london, cassis, naples, algiers, mumbai . . . & that’s just a few. that’s also not mentioning the massive & ridiculously opulent night island off the coast of miami, which armand purchased for daniel especially in the early eighties.

headcanon seven. beginning in the mid-sixties, armand took up a passion for gay pornography; since then, he has anonymously directed several feature - length ‘blue’ movies, with titles like romeo, defiled, pomegranate fever, pink narcissus, damocles’ distress, etc.
